A teen wanted in Ontario for second-degree murder in a fatal stabbing has been arrested in northern Saskatchewan.
Peel regional police say the second-degree murder warrant relates to a fatal stabbing at a Mississauga, Ont., home on May 26.
Daniel Smith, 19, of Mississauga died of his injuries after being rushed to hospital.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for a 17-year-old boy wanted in Smith’s death and police believed he had fled Ontario, possibly to Saskatchewan.
Pinehouse RCMP said a person matching the youth’s description was seen by officers Wednesday fleeing into the bush.
In a release late Wednesday after, police said the youth had been taken into custody without incident.
Pinehouse is roughly 515 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
