The Epson Perfection V370 Photo Scanner, $124.99, will keep
on giving as you restore your old faded prints or digitize your negatives and
slides. Dust removal filters clean up your pictures in easy auto mode while you
can use professional mode to scan up to full 4800×9600 DPI (dots per inch) to retain
every grain of film or slide information.

Under $100 slide/negative film scanners basically use a
converted digital camera to snap a photo of your slides or negatives in low
resolution, about half what today’s HD TV’s can show. This means you are
converting precious old photos to a tenth of their original quality. I think
for with a few more bucks a real scanner like the V370 will do a much better job and
handle prints, documents and oversize material.

The V370 includes a slide and 35mm negative tray for
scanning up to four slides or six negative frames at once. It will also scan
documents to the cloud and one-touch buttons for scanning to email. You can
scan larger documents and stitch them with included software.

The V370 starts instantly using LED lights instead of
Mercury used in older scanners, saving time and energy.
