Police searching for man accused of attempting to steal power tools from Barrie store

Barrie police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man accused of attempting to steal more than $300 in power tools from a Canadian Tire.

According to police, on June 9, at around 3:55 p.m., a man entered Canadian Tire on Bayfield Street in Barrie.

Police say the man selected a Dewalt 20v XR drill and driver combo kit and left the store without paying. A loss prevention officer stopped the man, and recovered the stolen tools before the man fled on foot towards Coulter Street.

Police are searching for a man in his 30s or 40s, approximately five feet 10 inches tall, with short, light brown hair and a blonde goatee. He has a full sleeve tattoo on both arms, and a scar above his right eye. He was seen wearing a red American Flag t-shirt, dark coloured shorts and white running shoes.
