The child was abducted by a man in a beige or gold-coloured car at approximately 9:15 am in the area of Barker Street and Melsandra Avenue.

According to police, witnesses observed a vehicle stop in the middle of the intersection. A man exited, and approached the young girl, picking her up and placing her in the vehicle.

Witnesses followed the vehicle and the child was located nearby a short time later. The child did not suffer any physical injuries, according to police. The vehicle then drove away, and witnesses lost sight of it, police said.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 60-years-old, 5-foot-10, with an average build. He was wearing a plaid shirt, brown-framed glasses, had grey hair, and facial hair described as “having a bit of growth,” police said in a statement.
