Police responded to a serious motorcycle crash in west Edmonton on Saturday afternoon. A police spokesperson said it was a single-vehicle crash.
Police were called to the scene at Yellowhead Trail and Anthony Henday Drive at approximately 3:15 p.m. When they got there, officers found a 25-year-old man suffering “significant injuries.”
Police believe the driver was travelling north on 184 Street, trying to get on the eastbound Yellowhead on-ramp when he lost control of his motorcycle. The driver was then allegedly thrown from the motorcycle, landing on the eastbound lanes of Yellowhead Trail.

The driver was treated on scene and taken to hospital with “serious, although non-life-threatening injuries.” He remains in hospital.
Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. They said impairment was not a factor. The investigation continues.
