Incumbent councillors Wendy Blackstock and Buddy Smith were re-elected. They’re joined by Julie Maitland and Jody Tetreau.

History
The Hazelton area was first inhabited by the Wet’suwet’en and Gitxsan First Nations.
It wasn’t until the mid-1860s that Old Hazelton came together along the river, which functioned as an active trading route.
Then the railway came in 1914, helping to establish New Hazelton and South Hazelton.
Today, Hazelton is largely populated by the Gitxsan, with the remaining residents made up by Wet’suwet’en and people of European extraction.
