Watch: Halifax Burger Week on the Morning News

They can be sky high, ooey-gooey, tangy, zippy, or old fashioned. Not matter which way they’re made, Halifax loves burgers.

The city has been taken over by burger aficionados, with no fewer than 21 restaurants participating in Halifax Burger Week.

Some are offering up their beefy creations for only $5, while others are plating up special items, with proceeds going to local charities.

For those behind the scenes, the perfect burger is a blend of ingredients and expertise. But as one local burger master told Global News, to make it right, all you need is love.

In honour of the meaty-madness, running from March 21-27, the Morning News crew dedicated their Breakfast Buzz segment to the Burger Buzz.

We crew kicked of Halifax Burger Week with Asheley Ramey, Burger Ambassador with The Coast.

Bill Pratt of Cheese Curds showed off his three-mushroom and Swiss cheese burger (with fresh spinach) – his feature for the week.


Shane Robilliard shared four special burgers featured at Your Father’s Moustache and Rockbottom Brewpub, including a very special bison burger.

Chickenburger President Colin MacDonald introduced us to the triple cheeseburger – his restaurant’s featured Burger Week burger.

Troy Dominix, chef from The Armview Restaurant, shares their speciality burger for Burger Week – the Classic, with fried onions, mustard and ketchup on a seeded bun.
