If there is any doubt that playoff fever has spread across Winnipeg, check out the growing crowds outside Bell MTS Place on game day.
After the first ever Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party during Game 1 of the Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild, a sum total of 9,000 people (give or take a few) watched, cheered and celebrated as the home team skated away with the first playoff win in recent history.

There were so many in attendance at the party that organizers expanded the party zone to almost three times the size.
What started as a contained space on Donald Street between Portage and Graham Avenues, was stretched across two city blocks, from Portage to St. Mary, and included a dedicated ‘family zone’ at the Millennium Library Park.

The party zone improvements included additional viewing screens, more food vendors and more bathroom facilities. The one thing it still needs though, is a name.
CJOB Radio hosts invited fans to suggest nick-names for the new street party space. The top five, in no particular order were Whiteout Way, The Drift, The Snow Zone, The Runway and The Flight Deck.
