A 7-year-old girl was ejected from a vehicle and six people were injured following a collision on Highway 28 in Douro-Dummer Township on Friday.
Around noon, Peterborough County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection along County Road 4.
Police say a westbound motor minivan had stopped and began to proceed through the intersection when a northbound car failed to stop at the intersection and struck the westbound motor vehicle.
“A 7-year-old female was ejected from the westbound motor vehicle as a result of the impact,” police said.
All six occupants of the minivan were transported to hospital and five were later released. Police say the girl was kept in hospital for observation of non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Judy Andrew, 66, of Burlington, Ont., was charged with disobey stop sign – fail to stop.
She was the lone occupant of the northbound vehicle.
The intersection reopened around 1:30 p.m.
