Police said during the altercation, the 19-year-old brandished pepper spray and sprayed the student in the face and then brandished the canister at two school staff members.

A 22-year-old man then assaulted a staff member who attempted to intervene, police said.

Students told CHEX News the teacher suffered injuries. Police said all injuries were minor in nature.

As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested.

Dylan John McCarrell, 19, of Cedar Bank Road, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault with a weapon.

Clayton Richard Spry, 22, of Wilfred Drive, was arrested and charged with assault. He was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act with fail to leave premises when directed.

They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on May 3.
