Kingston Police have confirmed the worst for family and friends of a 37-year-old man missing since late December.
The remains of James Switzer were discovered late Friday afternoon at a property on Bath Road, just west of Tanner Drive.
Switzer was last seen on Christmas night by his girlfriend at the apartment they shared on Castell Road. He had left the apartment to go to a nearby store for cigarettes and did not return.

His wallet was found about a month later in the parking lot of a restaurant on Days Road, not far from where he lived. Switzer’s remains were discovered by a woman who had just left Treasure Chest Bingo on Bath Road.
“This went from a missing person investigation to a sudden death investigation and is, right now, a coroner’s investigation,” said Det. Sgt. Jay Finn of Kingston Police.
Foul play is not suspected and Finn says Switzer may have succumbed to the elements.
The coroner is still trying to determine the exact cause of death.
