Brian Pallister was using Twitter Friday morning to respond to comments made by Kathleen Wynne about private sector sales of cannabis.
The Ontario Premier’s comments were targeted at new Ontario PC leader Doug Ford who said he would be in favour of privatizing pot sales.

However, Pallister called Wynne’s comments “reckless” and a ‘shot’ at Manitoba’s pot plan.
“You know who else doesn’t like our plan? Organized crime,” Pallister tweeted.
Pallister defended his government’s decision to allow approved private retailers to sell pot, with oversight by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries.

On his Twitter account, Pallister asked how often people choose a government cafeteria over a private restaurant, and later tweeted that “private sector beats the public sector every time when it comes to customer service”.

Just last month, the province released information on companies it has approved in principle for the sale of cannabis once it becomes legal.

The federal government had originally set summer 2018 as the target for legal marijuana sales, but that has since been pushed back to August.
