One woman dead after single-vehicle collision near Revelstoke

A driver who went over the embankment of the Trans-Canada Highway near Eagle Creek died in the crash.

Just before 4 a.m. on Monday, passing motorists called Revelstoke RCMP about a white 2015 Jeep Patriot about 25 metres from the road.

Police said the 26-year-old woman from Salmon Arm was driving westbound when she went over the embankment and was stopped by a tree.

Fire rescue services gave the driver first aid, but she died of her injuries.

Police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
