Global Calgary and 770 CHQR nominated for 14 RTDNA Awards

Global Calgary and Global News Radio – 770 CHQR have collectively been nominated for 14 Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Awards in the Prairie region.

RTDNA Canada Awards honour the best journalists, programs, stations and news-gathering organizations in radio, television and digital platforms.

Below are the 14 nominations for Calgary’s 2017 content, with two in the digital category, one in the multiplatform category, seven in the radio category and four in the television category.

The Prairie region winners will be announced at the regional awards ceremony on April 21 in Regina, Sask.

The cast also included stories about the CFB Suffield fire, another hurdle in the ongoing Calgary arena debate, council’s approval of land use changes for the new Calgary Police Service arrest processing unit, Canadians having more cash on-hand according to Stats Canada and Ralph Goodale saying he was anxious to get marijuana legalized by the summer, despite concerns by policing agencies.
