A 30-year-old woman was stabbed in what appears to be a random attack at a 7-11 convenience store on Deman and Comox this morning.
The woman suffered multiple stab wounds and was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital in stable condition.
A 39-year-old suspect was wrestled to the ground by witnesses and was held until police arrived.
The man is known to police and charges have not yet been laid.
Police say the motive for the attack is unclear, but appears to be random as the man and woman were not known to one another.
Investigators from the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and the Forensic Identification Unit will be at the scene throughout the morning.
