After hearing about the “ungovernables” (or better yet, “terrorist wannabes”) who tried to beat up Hamilton on Saturday night while hidden safely under their costume hoods, Hamiltonians are experiencing a flood of emotions.
The first is the shock that such primitive behaviour could come out of anyone who is spoiled on the riches of a land such as ours. Yes, times are always tough, but so was history.
The second is anger that someone could disrupt a way of life which every Canadian has worked so hard to preserve and advance. For what?
A third is the solidifying love and support the community gives back after a cowardly act like this. You will see that support again Saturday on Locke Street for #LoveLockeDay, a chance for everyone to support the community.
This will prove once again that these were the actions of a few displaced, disenfranchised individuals who will eventually fall to the peaceful majority, as always.

This has shown the world what a great city Hamilton is and how courageously it stands, shoulder to shoulder, with its own. This has invited people to experience Locke Street to see for themselves what everyone is saying about this city. Despite the emotional and financial cost of this cowardly act, it has united and promoted the greatness of what this city has always been and what it has become again.
Just another reason to visit! Thank you “ungovernables.”
As for those in the masks, if you really want to experience what ungovernable anarchy is all about, perhaps you’d enjoy a conflict zone in the middle east more than Hamilton. If you go, don’t forget your banner.
