Do you have an idea that would make Edmonton a healthier city? As part of a Smart Cities Challenge, the city is looking for proposals that would improve mental, physical, social and economic health.
It’s part of the first-ever HealthHack contest. Edmontonians are invited to submit their one-page proposals by March 9, and the top 5 finalists will be announced on March 16.

“To make Edmonton stand out in the Smart Cities Challenge, we want Edmonton’s best and brightest ideas, and to get them, we need to hear from as many different people as possible,” said Soumya Ghosh, director of Digital Enablement at the City of Edmonton. “All ideas will be considered and the top three will be awarded prizes.”

“We are excited to offer this prize money as we see it as an investment into the future health of Edmontonians,” Ghosh said. “Even if we are not successful in our Smart Cities Challenge submission, I’m confident that some of the ideas we receive will be used for future Smart City projects.”
