EDMONTON- RCMP in Strathcona County are warning the public after a series of apparent animal poisonings in the area.
Officers are currently investigating a number of cases they say happened on February 26 and February 28, in rural Strathcona County.
One resident, who lives just south of Ardrossan, told police their family dog died after experiencing numerous seizures, caused by what they believed to be poisoning.
Another resident who lives in the area says their family dog experienced a series of seizures as well, however, the animal was saved with the help of a veterinarian.
Through their investigation, officers have also discovered that a number of coyotes have been found dead by local residents. RCMP say these animals appear to have been poisoned as well.
Police are warning residents to be extra cautious with their pets, and keep a close eye on them. Officers are also encouraging residents to keep a close eye on their property, and report any suspicious activity.
