Canadians looking to keep more money in their pockets might be choosing to stay home over shopping in the United States, but our friends down south are noticing and have a proposal.
The Fargo Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau has partnered up with several restaurants, hotels, and the West Acres Mall to bring Canadians back across the border.
“The Canadian exchange rate has been causing a lot of you folks to stay home, which is distressing to us here in America,” Charley Johnson with Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors, said.

Johnson said over the last couple of years they’ve noticed a decline in Canadians coming across the border to North Dakota, and a lack of Manitoba license plates in the parking lots.
“We miss Canadians,” he said.
The month of March will be all about Canadians in Fargo, North Dakota.
A $20 gift card will be given to the first 100 Canadian customers at the mall each weekend.
