A Halton Regional Police officer is facing additional fraud charges.

Officers arrested Constable Michael Kellas, 29, Friday morning and have charged him with 13 counts of fraud under $5,000.

Police allege Kellas used his service-issued gas card, while off-duty, for his own personal benefit on 13 separate occasions.

Police say gas cards are issued to officers only for the purpose of fuelling service vehicles.

Kellas was previously arrested on Feb. 13 and charged with theft of credit card, possession/use of stolen credit card, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Kellas has been released on a promise to appear.
