Su Yi Liang was reported missing on Jan. 10 after she failed to pick up her children from school.

Police said Wednesday that they’ve now determined that Liang went missing on Jan. 8.

Police said they found evidence that showed Liang’s grey, electric, BMW i3 in the parking lot of New Brighton Park in East Vancouver “within hours of her disappearance.”

“Shortly after lunch her vehicle was being driven in this area by someone we believe other than her,” said Vancouver Police Const. Jason Doucette.

“So we’re asking anybody who was in the area or may have seen the vehicle, or anyone driving, that information is going to be important for us in piecing this together.”

Officers located her car at the Rupert Park Pitch & Putt three days later on Jan. 11.

“We’ve had a look through the grassy field here, we’ve got some crime scene tape up, we have divers in the water today just searching the shoreline. We want to make sure we can find any information possible to move this file forward,” Doucette said.

Police had previously said that Liang may not be found alive.

Anyone with information about Liang is asked to contact police at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
