Kingstonians came out to show their support at the Ink Well tattoo parlour for a fundraising event in support of the Kingston Animal Rescue.

The Tattoos for Tails event was sold out Sunday, with nearly 50 people registering to get a tattoo. Many were put on a waiting list to get preset designs for only $75. All proceeds will be donated to the Kingston Animal Rescue.

Five tattoo artists volunteered their time and services towards the fundraiser.

“Bringing people into the tattoo and art community, but also bringing awareness through these artists and the work that they do for charitable events in the city, it’s all about community. I think it’s really great that every one of these artists that are here today have donated their time,” said event organizer Ashley Silversides.

A raffle was also held for an animal-inspired tattoo worth $450.

After seeing the overwhelming response from the community, Tattoo for Tails is hoping to do another event in the future.
