CALGARY – City crews don’t yet know how much damage was caused by a water main break along Crowchild Trail.
Water was found gushing from beneath a garage in the 6300 block of Crowchild Trail S.W., shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Officials say a water main under the garage had ruptured and caused a steady stream of water which was threatening several homes.
Crews made sure the water flowed into a nearby storm sewer, and then used pumps to drain water out of window wells before it had a chance to enter the basements.
Several homes were checked for water damage, and only a small amount of water found its way into the basement of one home.
No damage estimate is known at this time.
