Police in Halifax arrest five men in Internet sting operation

HALIFAX – Police in Halifax have arrested five men who showed up at a hotel after they responded to an Internet advertisement set up by police that promised the sexual services of a 16 year old.

Police say officers exchanged hundreds of emails with adult men.

The five men arrested range in age from 25 to 57.

They were released on conditions and will appear in Halifax provincial court on April 2.

They face charges of using a computer to communicate with a person believed to be under 18 for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.
