Atchison spends over $160 thousand in municipal election

SASKATOON – The city has released the full disclosure campaign report from last fall’s municipal election and incumbent Don Atchison outspent his closest opponent by almost two-to-one. 

In his filing, Atchison spent $161,347 on his successful bid for re-election with Tom Wolf claiming $86,202 in expenses. 

Atchison also outpaced Wolf in campaign contributions, $146,814 to $20,977. 

The largest contributors to Atchison’s campaign were Derby Holdings at $10,000 and J&H Builder’s Warehouse and Arbutus Meadows Partnership, who both contributed $5,000.

A number of unions also contributed to Atchison’s campaign. 

The third candidate in the race, Clay Mazurkewich, did not file a campaign disclosure. 

Mayoral candidates were allowed to spend up to $171,955.55 for election expenses.
