Stephanie Lee Outram, 33, was charged in October with committing an indignity to a human body after two women were arrested. The second woman was released without charges.

Thirty-year-old Kimmel’s body was found discarded in a wooded area west of Calgary in January. He’d been reported missing after being last seen on Sept. 27.

Police believe Outram and Kimmel met through an online dating site.

Investigators have said they believe numerous people were involved in the young man’s disappearance and death, and Kimmel’s mother is hoping more people will come forward with information.

“We do hope that there is more information that comes in so justice is served. It’s not easy to lose your child,” Sandra Kimmel said Monday in a phone interview with Global News.

“Last Christmas, we just hoped he was safe and warm and we know that he wasn’t,” she said. “So even though it’s the second, this is really the first Christmas [without him].”

Outram is expected back in court on Friday.
