Last Wednesday, the day before the Calgary-Lougheed byelection, political scientist Lori Williams said Jason Kenney would not only have to win, he would have to win in a landslide to back his contention that Alberta is still a conservative province.
As you know he won big, much to the delight of those who believe the NDP is a one-time accidental government.
As we wait for a 2019 decision on whether Alberta is still a conservative province, a new poll published the day of the byelection shows Albertans divided over the funding of religious schools.
This, against the backdrop of the NDP asking faith-based schools to change their sex-ed teaching to align with all publicly funded schools.
And speaking of money, we don’t have near enough.
Premier Notley is talking about “compassionate belt-tightening.”
Is there such a thing?
Or, are some going to feel the political penny pinching on top of the increasing carbon tax?
Let me know what you think.
