‘He was lying there in a pool of blood’: Arrest made in Lethbridge suspicious death

Lethbridge police confirm they have made an arrest after the body of a 45-year-old man was found Monday morning inside a home along the 1200 block of 9 Avenue N.

In a Tuesday morning media release, police said a male has been arrested and remains in custody.

An autopsy to determine a cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday in Calgary.

On Monday, neighbour Marcel Twigg told Global News he was getting ready for work when his next-door neighbour began frantically knocking at his door just before 7:30 a.m.

“She was hysterical, yelling, ‘He wasn’t breathing, he’s not breathing,'” Twigg said.

Twigg said he rushed over to help.

“I went down there, he was lying there in a pool of blood and my first reaction was to help him,” he said. “I felt for a pulse – no pulse, no breath… so that’s when 911 was telling me what to do… I tried CPR until the paramedics came and they took over.”

Police have not released the name of the deceased man.
