Hamilton police say a handgun that was allegedly used in a robbery at a marijuana dispensary earlier this week has been recovered.

A resident found the loaded weapon on their property on Wednesday as police were canvassing for evidence in the area.

“Police were notified, attended and seized the firearm as well as additional evidence which had been discarded by the suspects while attempting to escape police custody,” Hamilton police stated in a news release on Friday.

Police say as a result of the evidence seized, they have been able to lay additional charges in the case.
