An Edmonton man has been arrested and charged after police said a six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted twice at an Edmonton home over the summer.
Harvey William Leroux, 49, was arrested on Oct. 24 following what police called an extensive investigation. He is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
“Investigators believe that the individual befriends mothers, supports them in various capacities all with the end game or objective of gaining the trust and access to their children,” Edmonton Police Service spokesperson Scott Pattison said.
Police are releasing his photo because they believe Leroux may have had contact with other children.
“There is enough evidence to suggest that there is the potential for additional complainants,” Pattison said. “All of those complaints will be taken seriously and reviewed.
“These files are very sensitive and they appear predatory. The allegations appear predatory.”
