The team’s Twitter account also focused in on the Oilers’ phenom Connor McDavid.

McDavid finished with two goals and an assist. Edmonton was 3 for 3 on the power play and 4 for 4 on the penalty kill.

While a lot of the jokes poked fun at the team’s own performance on the ice, they also took aim at the frigid temperatures north of the border.

The inaugural match saw 13 of the Oilers’ 18 skaters record at least one point.

The Oilers improve to 7-9-2 on the season. They’ll host St. Louis on Thursday.
