N.S. RCMP searching for suspect in Middleton convenience store robbery

RCMP in Nova Scotia are looking for a suspect after a convenience store was held up by a man holding a screwdriver.

Police say the man walked into a store on Main Street in Middleton on Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m. and demanded the cash drawer.

The employee handed the money to the man, who took it and ran away.

Police say there was a customer in the back of the store, but neither he nor the employee was hurt in the incident.

RCMP patrolled the area with a police dog, but could not find the suspect. They have released images of the man from the store’s surveillance camera.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his late 30s, medium height with a heavy build and dark, receding hair.

He was wearing a black puffy jacket, sweatpants with a stripe down the legs and a white bandanna that partially covered his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Annapolis District RCMP at 902-665-4481 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
