SYLVAN LAKE, AB – A 28-year-old man is facing a handful of charges after allegedly stabbing someone during a fight in an ice fishing hut in central Alberta.
RCMP responded to the scene around 3 a.m. on Saturday, taking one man and one woman into custody.
The victim was rushed to Red Deer Regional Hospital by a friend who was at a nearby fishing hut.

He has since been treated and released.
Officials say it appears the victim was stabbed in a fight which evolved after a night of drinking.
Investigators believe they’ve found the weapon used under the ice at the lake.
Casey Kristopher Staple of Three Hills is facing one count of Aggravated Assault, and three counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance.
The female who police took into custody has been released without charges.
