Pickup truck involved in fiery wrong-way head-on crash near Havelock, N.B.

RCMP say a pickup travelling in the wrong direction on the highway near Havelock, N.B. was involved in a fiery head-on crash.

Officers, the local fire department and ambulance responded to the crash at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday on the TransCanada Highway, Route 2.

According to RCMP, the pickup truck was travelling the wrong way in the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a transport truck.

Video of the scene taken by local videographer Wade Perry shows the pickup truck engulfed in flames as fire crews work to put out the fire.

RCMP say the driver of the pickup truck, who was the sole occupant, was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

The police investigation into the crash continues.
