UPDATE: IHIT identified the victim of Friday’s fatal shooting as 27-year-old Randeep Kang of Vancouver. IHIT also said a dark-coloured SUV that was found on fire nearby may be related to the case.
Surrey RCMP confirm one person is dead after what is believed to be a targeted shooting Friday night.
A second victim was found with gunshot wounds by Mounties and was taken to hospital.
It happened shortly before 9 p.m., in the 11300-block of Alpen Place.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), RCMP Major Crimes Unit, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section have all been called in to investigate.
Anybody with any information is asked to either call IHIT, or Crime Stoppers.

Elsewhere, police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened in the middle of a busy Abbotsford street during rush hour on Friday.
Witnesses told police that gunfire erupted from at least one vehicle just before 5:30 p.m. near Bradner and Townshipline Roads.
An Abbotsford man in his 30s was shot and fled the scene before officers arrived.
He was later dropped off at Mission Memorial Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.
