N.S. RCMP refer alleged domestic dispute involving off-duty Mountie to provincial watchdog

Nova Scotia RCMP have referred a case involving an off-duty Mountie to the province’s police watchdog.

According to police, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Colchester District RCMP received a report of a domestic dispute at a home in Bible Hill, N.S.

When they arrived, officers learned that an alleged assault had occurred between an off-duty male RCMP officer and a woman that he knew.

The man was taken into custody by the RCMP who transferred him into the custody of the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) who will handle the investigation.

Due to the investigation, the RCMP says they’re unable to discuss further details about the incident.
