Workers had to be evacuated from the facility Tuesday morning following a leak from one of the production areas.

“There was some kind of a seal issue, a broken seal, or some kind of a seal problem and the leak had been sealed, so we just monitored the area. We were actually on site for about 15 minutes,” said Port Coquitlam Fire Chief Nick Delmonico.

WATCH: What exactly is ammonia and why is it so dangerous?

“There were low levels of ammonia in the area but not enough that it was a major concern.”
