N.B. RCMP charge 3 men with soliciting sexual services

Three men are facing charges of soliciting sexual services after New Brunswick RCMP say they arrested the men attempting to purchase services from sex trade workers.

According to the Mounties, the arrests were made as part of their efforts to curb street prostitution.

A 59-year-old man from Saint-Antoine, N.B.,  a 50-year-old man from Dieppe, N.B., and a 46-year-old man from Lotbinière, Que., were arrested separately last week in in the Dufferin and St. George Street areas of Moncton, N.B.

“The Codiac Regional RCMP is actively working to stop ‘Johns’ from attempting to buy services from sex trade workers in public places,” said Const. Curtis McCann of the Codiac Regional RCMP in a statement.

“The public can help us by calling police or Crime Stoppers if they see activity in their neighbourhood that could be related to the soliciting of sexual services. A description of vehicles and licence plate numbers will help investigators.”

All three men have since been released with a promise to appear in Moncton Provincial Court.
