Quinte West OPP is searching for a suspect after a violent home invasion east of CFB Trenton.
Police responded to a trailer at Bayview Estates just after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning to a home invasion where it’s alleged an altercation took place before the suspect fled the scene on foot.
According to the OPP, the suspect indicated to his female victim that he had a weapon although no weapon was seen.
About an hour and a half later, a suspect attempted to break into another trailer in the same park.

Ed Gaugnier, the 91-year-old resident of the trailer, says he was up and waiting for his wife to stir when he heard something loud outside of his trailer.
“All of the sudden it was just like someone had come in here with a bomb, the noise was so loud it was terrible,” said Gaugnier.
That noise was the sound of someone trying to pry open and kick in his door. Gaugnier turned on the lights to see what was going on but by the time he managed to get his damaged door open, the suspect on the other side had taken off.
Both incidents occurred about an hour and a half apart but police at this point in the investigation are not willing to comment on whether they believe the two to be connected
The suspect, who is described as in his 20s and lanky, was last seen wearing splash pants and a hoodie.
“Anybody that saw anybody that matches that description leaving this area we definitely want to hear from you, it was early but there would still be people up out walking and doing that sort of thing,” said Const. Dave Ludington.
Anyone who may see someone matching the suspect description is being asked not to approach him.
