MONTREAL — It appears more than one person was involved in the mysterious 2008 murder of Laval resident Jeremy Brick, Laval police said Friday.
Fresh details, they added, have reinvigorated their five-year investigation.
To help them bring the case to completion, investigators simultaneously launched a fresh appeal to the public to provide them with tips.
“Recently, information coming from the public has helped us to make significant progress on this investigation,” the force said in a news release:

“This has permitted us to target more than one person directly related to Mr. Brick’s murder.”
Brick was 29 years old when he was shot dead about 3:45 a.m. March 21, 2008, in a parking lot in the Chomedey district of Laval.
The victim had no criminal record.
He hadn’t had any run-ins with police.
Early in the probe, investigators said they believed Brick had just arrived in the parking lot — near where 100th Ave. intersects with Louis Payette Ave. — when he was gunned down, just outside a condominium he shared with his girlfriend.
A firearm was found nearby.
People with any information — including details not passed along to investigators at the time of the initial investigation — have been asked to call 450-662-4636 or 911, citing case LVL 080321-010.
The force specified that confidentiality will be provided.
