From pumpkin cannons to pumpkin bowling, this year’s Pumpkin Festival at Buckhorn Berry Farm has it all.
The annual event takes place at the farm every weekend until the end of October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The autumn and Halloween-themed festivities make for a great family outing, said festival-goer Jennifer Jacobs.
“We’ve just made it into a family tradition. We come here for Thanksgiving every year and we have lots of fun,” Jacobs said

“There’s lots of great stuff for the kids to do.”
The fall tradition attracts families from Peterborough and beyond to explore some outdoor fun.
“Farming is hard work and then we just get to October and it’s a fun time to celebrate and enjoy some family time,” says Buckthorn Berry Farm owner Erin McLean.
“We really love inviting people out to the farm and just watching them have a lot of fun here.”
Activities at this year’s Pumpkin Festival include everything from a chance to see barnyard animals to a maze and obstacle course and a bouncy castle. There’s also fun of the spooky sort, from a haunted forest and the Bonesville cemetery.
And of course big orange gourds will be everywhere — visitors can enjoy wagon rides in the pumpkin patch as well as pumpkin bowling and a pumpkin cannon (just watch out for all the seeds!).
