UPDATE: Woman found unresponsive in Saskatoon police cell released from hospital
A woman is in stable condition after she was found in medical distress in a Saskatoon Police Service detention cell.
The 31-year-old woman had been charged with possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking early Wednesday morning.

She was assessed by paramedics and taken to a cell where regular checks were made over the next few hours.
During a check at around 7:30 a.m. CT, she was found unresponsive and taken to hospital. At one point she was placed in the intensive care unit.
Staff found an unknown substance concealed in her body. It has been sent for analysis.
Police said further details will be released at a later date.
