Video of swaying toddlers captures intensity of deadly Mexico quake

Dramatic footage from CCTV at state-run daycares in Mexico City captures the moment that teachers, caretakers and doctors led kids outside buildings as the deadly magnitude-7.1 earthquake struck on Sept. 19.

Recently released footage from the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) daycares shows cars violently moving, shaking trees and even some toddlers struggling to walk to get to safe spaces.

In a press release, ISSSTE director, Jose Reyes Baeza Terrazas, said protection protocols were followed quickly and efficiently, giving security to up to 7,000 kids registered at the daycares in the most affected states in Mexico.

In total 369 people died in the Sept. 19 earthquake, the deadliest in a generation, with almost two-thirds of the fatalities in the capital.
