Scott Thompson: Is anyone surprised what happened in Vegas?

There has been another mass murder shooting in the United States.

Should any of us be surprised?

This time a highly armed man perched 32 floors atop the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas overlooking a concert square opens fire on those below who have nowhere to go.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

The shooter, who took his own life, does not appear to be connected to any extreme religious or terrorist organization.

Police say Stephen Paddocks hotel room was heavily armed, as was his home.
