U of L students rally against budget cuts

A not-for-profit group at the University of Lethbridge is informing students about how the provincial budget will impact their school and their pocketbooks.

Lethbridge Public Interest Research Group (LPIRG) had booths set up Thursday, providing information about the $11.9-million deficit the university is facing. The group hopes by educating fellow students about the 7.3 per cent post-secondary cut, they’ll want to speak out.

LPIRG is encouraging students to have a voice by giving the contact information for Premier Alison Redford, Minister of Advanced Education Thomas Lukaszuk, Finance Minster Doug Horner and University of Lethbridge President Mike Mahon.

They are urged to Facebook, Tweet, call, mail and email the members of government with their concerns and questions- they even have suggested questions to pose to the individuals.

More information can be found online at www.lpirg.org.
