A system of storms that moved through Manitoba Tuesday evening and overnight left behind damages and power outages.
Southern Manitoba was hit hardest with winds reaching 104 km/h in the Steinbach area.
Manitoba Hydro said outages started being reported around 8 p.m. As the storm continued to worsen, more outages were reported with 2,200 customers still without power Wednesday morning. In all, 6,200 customers lost power at some point.
Crews were busy fixing poles, damaged transformers and removing trees from power lines.

As of 2 p.m. roughly 750 customers were still without power. Hydro has extra crews from Winnipeg and Warden working to get power restored. Power is expected to be back up by 9 p.m. More than 24 hours after the first outages were reported.

Significant damage could be also be seen in photos on social media from the Wawanesa area, but Environment Canada said “no weather stations were available for a representative wind gust.”
Environment Canada reported that the Baldur, Cartwright area saw between two to four inches of rain.
