Police say a Brantford man, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a VIA Rail train.
Brantford Police, alongside EMS, were called to the area of Powerline Road between Oak Park Road and Paris Road to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a train at 7:30 Tuesday morning.

The train, travelling eastbound from London to Toronto, was stopped until roughly 10:30 a.m. which also resulted in delays for other trains along the Windsor-Toronto corridor.
Police are not releasing any other information about the death but say officers are working with the coroner’s office in the investigation.
