A man accused of sexually abusing a young girl at a northwest Calgary dayhome has seen his charges dropped.
The two-day trial for Jason David Mitchell was set to begin Monday, but the Crown confirms a stay of proceedings has been directed on all charges.
In May 2016, police announced Mitchell was arrested on counts of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
Investigators said the girl claimed she had been kissed and was asked to inappropriately touch a man while at the Little Footprints Dayhome.
They said Mitchell, 48, and the dayhome operator lived together, adding he worked there, as well.

A stay means the prosecution could revive the charges within the next 12 months.
