Man wanted in connection with northern Alberta homicide believed to be in Edmonton: RCMP

UPDATE: On Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, the RCMP issued a new plea for information on Braden Foster’s whereabouts and said “he is believed to be in the Edmonton area.” Police reiterated their warning not to approach Foster if he is spotted and to call police instead. The RCMP also said the red Pontiac Aztec they were looking for has now been accounted for and is no longer of interest.”

Police are looking for tips as they look for a man wanted in connection with a woman’s homicide in northern Alberta last month.

On Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP released photos of 27-year-old Braden Eric Foster, of Slave Lake, in the hope that someone will have information on his whereabouts.

Police said Foster is being sought in connection with the death of 21-year-old Nicole Brenda Robar, whose body was recovered from the Lesser Slave River on Saturday, Aug. 5.

Mounties said an arrest warrant has been issued for Foster, who is facing charges including kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and extortion. Two people have been charged with murder in connection with Robar’s death. On Aug. 16, police announced Warren Kyle Warren, 34, of Slave Lake and Jessica Melinda Davis, 27, of Spruce Grove, had both been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains.

On Wednesday, police said they believe Foster is in the Slave Lake area but may be headed to the Edmonton area.

Foster is 5’11” and 181 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

They said Foster could be travelling in a red Pontiac Aztec with Alberta licence plate BVN1413.

Anyone who sees Foster is asked not to approach him but instead to call the Slave Lake RCMP detachment. If anyone who sees Foster wants to stay anonymous while reporting the sighting to police, they can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by online.
