The sentencing hearing for the teen guilty of killing four people and wounding seven others in the La Loche school shooting will resume in October.
Proceedings came to an unexpected halt on Sept. 1 when the lead Crown prosecutor in the case, Lloyd Stang, was appointed to the bench as a Saskatchewan provincial court judge.

It was the second delay in final sentencing arguments.
Final arguments were originally to be heard on Aug. 25, but that was delayed after a Gladue report was filed with the court stating the teen has fetal alcohol syndrome.
The Crown wanted to question the authors of the report, leading to the initial delay.
The hearing is to determine if the teen will be sentenced as an adult or a youth.

The teen has pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder in the January 2016 shooting in La Loche.
He could get six years in custody and four years of probation if sentenced as a youth, but faces a life sentence as an adult.
Testimony and closing arguments are now expected to be heard on Oct. 20 in Meadow Lake.
